¿Qué supone ser normal? El fantasma de la normalidad de Saara Turunen explora precisamente ese norte imperante, cruel y hostil pero seductor y aspiracional. Conjura una Finlandia cómicamente taciturna habitada por una multitud de absurdos personajes en busca de esa intransigente ficción.
Inspirada en El fantasma de la libertadde Luis Buñuel, esta despojada pieza de teatro de imagen propone una surreal meditación sobre la construcción de lo "normal" a expensas de la diversidad.
Después de todo, ¿quién no ha sido acosado por el fantasma de la normalidad?

“La tercera edición del Festival Internacional de Dramaturgia profundiza en el núcleo mismo de su hacer y decide interrogarse acerca de su existencia contemporánea. Al igual que en anteriores ediciones dialogaremos con las diversas formas de la dramaturgia en el teatro y, también, con aquellos modos de su presencia en la danza o de su participación conceptual en las performances, las intervenciones urbanas y las artes visuales.
Seguimos siendo seres de deseo, mientras la autocracia y democracia emocionales nos desplazan a campos imprevisibles; en tiempos de ultracontemporaneidad, lo humano y lo territorial parecen desvanecerse en una marea subjetiva de consumos, productividad y rendimiento.
Desde este contexto, nos posicionaremos en una paradoja enmarcada por el lema Estados emocionales. Artistas de distintas procedencias del mundo dialogarán a la distancia emigrando e inmigrando textos, conceptos, gestos, movimientos. Ellos desplazarán las ideas de cuerpo-territorio-frontera-discurso-escenario, con el fin de construir mecanismos que evidencien la instrumentación del diseño emocional, creando mundos paralelos… o, tal vez, simplemente, el mejor de los mundos posibles.”

“Cinco piezas de teatro reflejan cinco mundos paralelos, quizás posibles o no, de algún sistema emocional que existe o podría existir… así sea en la ficción. En la sección Teatro del III Festival Internacional de Dramaturgia se emplazan en la escena territorios saturados, guerras en cosmografías insospechadas, realidades duplicadas, y un pasado, un presente o un futuro inciertos.”

Synopsis
What is it to be normal? El fantasma de la normalidad by Saara Turunen explores this cultural north, cruel and hostile but also seductive and aspirational. It conjures a comically taciturn Finland inhabited by a multitude of absurd characters in search of this unforgiving fiction.
Inspired by Luis Buñuel’s The Phantom of Liberty, this stark piece of image theatre invites a surreal meditation about the construction of “normality” at the expense of diversity.

“This third edition of the International Dramaturgy Festival delves to the very core of its mission and sets out to interrogate its contemporary existence. As in previous editions we’ll be in dialogue with the diverse forms of dramaturgy in theatre and, also, with those ways in which it is present in dance or its conceptual participation in performances, urban interventions and the visual arts.
We remain beings of desire, while emotional autocracy and democracy move us towards unpredictable fields; in ultracontemporary times, the human and the territorial seem to dissolve in a subjective sea of consumption, productivity and performance.
Given this context, we position ourselves in a paradox framed by the motto Emotional States. Artists from different parts of the world will dialogue at a distance, emigrating and immigrating texts, concepts, gestures, movements. They will displace ideas of body-territory-borderline-discourse-stage, in order to construct mechanisms that evince the instrumentation of emotional design, creating parallel worlds or, maybe, simply the best of possible worlds.”

“Five theater plays reflect five parallel worlds, which may or may not be possible, of some emotional system that exists or could exist… even if it is in fiction. In the Theater Section of the III International Dramaturgy Festival, saturated territories, wars in unexpected cosmographies, duplicated realities and an uncertain past, present or future come onto the stage.”
